After several hours upon hours of use, and various devices used, how does the Turtle Beach EARFORCE SHADOW headset fair? Is it ‘the’ headset for the gamer in your family?
Read on to find out!
We’ll start in hourly sections, noting down the use, how it was used, and how it felt and sounded.
At the end, we’ll have our overall thoughts on the headset and whether this headset is worth the cost!
0 – 9 Hours
After just 2 hours of use, the headset is still as comfortable as when it was first put on. The initial sound without the amplifier on a Nintendo 3DS created a beautiful new effect of sounds and music, but it wasn’t until plugging the amplifier in that the true sound quality came through with this headset.
Over just the course of 2 hours and use with various Nintendo 3DS titles, I felt the music and sounds bring new life to the games, establishing a more immersive feel with the vast worlds I dove into.
9 – 15 hours
Moving onto PC gaming the headset worked amazing, felt comfortable for the first 5 hours, after, there was slight discomfort, but nothing that would bother the average gamer. The sounds coming from there game were much grander than on that of a handheld device due to the higher resolution sounds. Setup is super simple on a PC with a USB and Microphone jack right next to one another, or if necessary, the lengthy cable of the headset proves useful to reach around the PC to reach necessary ports!
15 – 20 hours
Further use listening to solely music, the EARFORCE SHADOW brings comfort and powerful sounds to the ears without creating any distortion to the sounds, the added Bass and Treble sliders only add to the power. After this testing session, I will move on to an actual console. The console test will be the final step in the multi-console test for this headset.
A gun firing, an explosion off in the distance, the footsteps of your enemies heard just around the corner. These are all that you’ll hear crystal clear with beautiful Bass and Treble accompanying the sounds, the EARFORCE SHADOW has so far proven to be a superior and comfortable headset for various consoles and devices.
After over 20 hours since opening up the headset and wearing it for several hours over various consoles and devices, and listening to sounds, songs, music, and voices, it’s definitely clear that the EARFORCE SHADOW is a great buy for any ‘gamer’ in the family, or even yourself.
The comfort of the EARFORCE SHADOW headset is the first thing that is noticed. While many headsets I’ve tried in the past have felt like hard plastic around my ears or on them without any cushion, the Turtle Beach headset felt good the moment I put it on and stayed that way with little to no irritation. The design that Turtle Beach brings with their unique headset design is definitely unmatched by previous headsets I’ve worn in the past.
The EARFORCE SHADOW also brings great clarity and powerful sounds with the additional amplifier included with the set. From adjusting sound volume to microphone/voice volume, to controlling the Bass and Treble, the overall sounds brought to you are enhanced like no other headset or speakers can bring in a compact and inexpensive way.
So the big question?
Should I buy this headset for myself or someone I know?
Yes! Absolutely! The cost of this headset may be $100, but the headset will last weeks with great comfort and sound quality. The design, comfort, and sound are a remarkable deal for any gamer looking to have that one headset that fits all their needs, and that’s exactly what this headset does!
