THE WALKING DEAD
Aaron Matthew Holmes
An intense, action-packed game that leaves the player on the edge of their seat!
Continuing on in the The Walking Dead series, Telltale once again provides a unique, thrilling twist to the ever-changing game series! Several choices that a player made back in Episode 1 and Episode 2 may just come back and bite the player where it hurts! Other choices, made within Episode 3, may leave the player vulnerable to attacks from other members of their team of survivors.
One of the biggest twists in my play-through of the game, is that one of the survivors is secretly handing out much-needed medical supplies to bandits in order to keep things calm. This leads to suspicion, and eventually a massive attack from the bandits when this secret is revealed, and the medicine that’s being supplied is taken back into custody by the group of survivors!
Other story choices come up later on, some that greatly affect Clementine, the little girl that you have sworn to protect with your life. It has become more and more evident that the survivors are becoming weary of others, and are watching whom they trust. The survivors are constantly
on pins and needles in this latest installment, and it is a great add-on to the 5-game series that Telltale has been releasing!
By creating more and more tense situations between the player and the team of survivors, the story really takes a strong advantage of what the player has said, or even done, in the past two episodes of this game series.
The pure strength and intensity of the evolving storyline, and player choices, provide a great experience for replaying this game time and time again!
Replay Value: 5/5
As I have already mentioned, I strongly believe that this series will have a great replay value for the average gamer, as I know it will for myself. Selecting different lines to say, different people to save, even choosing how to go about different situations, just to see what’s affected later on, is an astounding way to keep the replay value of The Walking Dead Episode 3 very high, and, of course, for the remainder of this series!
